The Mumbai Indians finally seem to have got their act together, now back on home turf in India.
For their last game in Dubai though, last week, not even Kieron Pollard’s unbelievable hitting could save Mumbai from the Hyderabad Sunrisers and surely, the best bowling line-up in this IPL T20 series.
Dale Steyn led from the front and the rest followed, even Amit Mishra who survived Pollard’s onslaught.
But for Dubai fans, the match was made in part by one man even before the game – Sachin Tendulkar.
Tendulkar took the bat and for 15 minutes, treated the stadium to a batting masterclass of old.
Mostly straight drives, but a master still in his class nevertheless.
Dads were seen hustling their kids, phones in hand to watch Tendulkar one more time and for all who had never seen him ‘live’, it was the next best thing to a dream come true.
Jonty Rhodes was dashing about as well, looking as fit as a cheetah and probably still the best fielder in world cricket.
As David Warner launched an attack with controlled aggression on Mumbai, Sachin took a seat to give a TV interview.
It was fitting end to the IPL in Dubai. An impromptu master class. From the master.

Tendulkar walked out onto the pitch to the kind of crowd roar that true superstars get – and in the cricket world that he is.
After attempting to merge into the warm-ups that were on at the Dubai Cricket Stadium at Sports City, the crowd refused to let him escape.
Finally, he acquiesced.
