Some time in 2010, Tendulkar, after having had his own practice session at the Mumbai Cricket Association's Bandra-Kurla Complex facility, stood behind the nets for close to half-an-hour, intently watching the then 11-year-old Prithvi as he batted against the same bowlers who had bowled to Sachin earlier.
"Sachin kept talking to him every few balls and gave him valuable tips," said Hemant Kenkre, Tendulkar's first captain at the CCI who was witness to the incident.
Tendulkar told the schoolboy how to respond to bounce and turn, discussed the use of the wrist and some technical aspects of batting.
And he must have quite liked what he saw, for at the end of the practice session came the offer which gave Prithvi a hotline to the Master himself.
